Inspiration On The Farm: The People

_LM57239-14

Last part in my Inspiration On The Farm series: The People. I saved the best for last (o:

I pretty much went into the weekend feeling like the novice who didn't have her business really up and running (though all the paperwork was there, the timidity was still looming) among all these professionals who knew what they were doing. Very intimidating. But once I saw the smiles on their faces and the sweetness they all possessed I felt sooo at ease and way more confident the way they accepted me as an equal!

To say the girls were sweet, gorgeous, talented and insanely hilarious is a gross understatement. We had moments where laughter turned to snorting and showing pictures resulted in 'oooooh, I LOVE that!' They were just amazing to be around and to learn from. It was not a formal workshop but more of a weekend of a bunch of girls with an intense passion for photography running around the country taking as many pictures as we could! One main thing I noticed some of us are big picture people and some are detail people. I love how unique all of us as photographers can be and, to me, that's what is so amazing about photography!

Again, I am not great with words So I hope the images I caught of some of these girls can help show the beauty, inside and out, that they possess. I am truly grateful to this community of girls and the friendships I have made with them. It means more to me than I will ever be able to express

The Desert

Found some time today and last night to edit a little session I had with my daughter. We found a little spot close to home that I'm honestly pretty please with! I just love trees and grass and green but for the desert I think this will do! And when there are clouds in the sky to reflect the sunset opposite them, ah l'amore! <3

So with finding desert locations comes desert editing. I'm practicing and playing and finding the sweet spots for me. Above is a bit of a fun edit with some light leaks (thanks to Anna Gay!). Below are edits that represent my happy place. Photographers are ever evolving and learning but I feel this is the foundation of what I'd like my style be. (o:

Side note: that's a dress I made :o) I'm loving sewing and hope she grows into it perfectly for Christmas!

Zoey's Smile. Edition 6

Another week, more smiles! Though less camera time with my newly dubbed Penelope! Is it sad that it's taken me three years to name my camera? But I asked hubby if there was ever a shot to name another (future *crosses fingers*) little girl named Penelope and he ix-nay-ed that idea :oP Works out well cuz I get to use the name now instead of years down the road! <3

I'm currently taking a bit of a break from the business-preparation side of things to focus on doing my wifey/maid jobs :oP My daughter also took a tumble last week so she's getting some extra TLC from her daddy and I. <3

Okay so this isn't a smile but it sure makes me smile! She just wants to be exactly like her mommie and daddie! <3

Zoey's Smile. Edition 5

Apparently I have not been playing with my camera much as these are the only two images I have for you today! Above is Zoey doing her fake laugh in response to our laughs; she wants to fit in :oP Below isn't so much a smile as a funny face to give you a smile (o:

Collage: The Next Generation, Part 1

As some of you may know I used to dance; ballet was my weapon of choice. And if you've been following me for the past few months you probably remember that I went up to Washington State to dance with my old ballet studio in a performance of our late ballet teachers' signature piece: Collage. After a few weeks pictures of the performance and days leading up to it were posted on facebook and the director of the studio mentioned to my mom making a baby version. Ah, when you give my mom a crazy-cute idea like that you better believe she will act on it! She sent me pictures of the process and in one surprised me with the fact that she was making an American Girl doll one also (she used to mini-me my outfits for my dolls when I was younger)! I knew what I was receiving by the time the box arrived but it was SO much cuter in person and I could not get over it! Immediately we put the outfits on and took some shots outside! When she got in her costume and held her doll in the matching outfit her spirits just lifted and she was beyond happy and so in love with the concept!

Bulldog face is back!

Ready to Tango!

And dip!

Chin up dollie!

I asked her to send kisses to her Oma to thank her so this is 'thank you Oma' picture!

She was trying to help her doll hold the water cup!

Helping Marisol (the doll) slide! Even said 'wee!' like my hubs and I do when she slides!
